Jose Fernandez
This is an example of an athlete that struggled through his senior year, with grades just so he can play baseball, even tho he was considered a star baseball pitcher.  Josh Fernandez left Cuba and went into Mexico, from there he crossed the border into Texas.  He was a high school student and was a star baseball pitcher.  He went to Alonso High School and made a verbal contract to go to University of South Florida. From there he wanted to go the Miami Marlins.  He had planned to have a starting role.  But the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) saw that he could be ineligible for his senior year.  http://www.tallahassee.com/article/20130427/CAPITOLNEWS/130427006/Politics-play-Bill-would-overhaul-high-school-athletic-regulations
